Integrated Campaign Design & Typography: The Maison Grand Opening

Project Overview

This integrated marketing initiative focuses on the conceptualization and visual deployment of a multi-poster promotional campaign for the grand opening of “The Maison,” an elite entertainment and live jazz venue in New Orleans, Louisiana. The primary objective was to engineer a striking, high-contrast print collateral system that mirrors the energy, drama, and luxury of live performance fields while maximizing community engagement and stakeholder interest.

Design Strategy & Typographic Architecture

The visual roadmap establishes an immediate cultural connection to the heritage of the genre by balancing bold illustrative portraiture with expressive typographic systems.
  • Structural Typography: To anchor the visual hierarchy of the campaign, a modular typeface known as Guaraldi was deployed to spell out the primary event title. The characters feature a precise piano keyboard execution to embed the venue’s core medium directly into the letterforms. This is balanced against the industrial, high-impact font Phosphate for all secondary informational copy, establishing clear readability reminiscent of legacy theatrical and Broadway playbills.
  • Color Theory & Stylized Illustration: The corporate color space utilizes a stark, high-contrast palette of deep blacks, rich reds, and vibrant pinks to capture the dramatic atmosphere of New Orleans nightlife. The main focal asset features a stylized, custom illustration of a vocal performer, serving as a dedicated tribute to iconic historical figures like Billie Holiday and Norah Jones.

Campaign Scaling & Composition

To expand the reach of the campaign, the identity system was scaled across three distinct variants featuring stylized jazz musicians, establishing campaign variety while strictly adhering to the core brand guidelines. The spatial layout was engineered to resolve complex column constraints and text box parameters, delivering a balanced, studio-ready print production suite that drives immediate public interest.
