Project Overview

Trill Mag is an independent, non-profit digital media publication engineered for the Gen-Z demographic, focusing on global news, entertainment, and modern culture. Serving as a dedicated Graphic Design Intern, the objective was to collaborate directly with the editorial department to conceptualize, design, and deploy bespoke digital illustrations and feature graphics to accompany high-traffic editorial articles. This specific deployment focuses on the visual asset generation for the investigative feature, “Unraveling The Mystery: Dwana Pusser’s Cause Of Death,” written by Omar Malik, which examines historical true-crime discourse, public record anomalies, and systemic regional narratives.

Design Strategy & Narrative Depth

The core creative challenge lay in navigating sensitive investigative content and translating complex historical metadata into a compelling, high-contrast visual package.

Composition & Cinematic Tone: The primary cover illustration utilizes a high-contrast palette of deep blacks and rich reds to establish a striking, enigmatic atmosphere appropriate for true-crime journalism. The composition prioritizes dramatic visual tension to engage readers across digital newsfeeds immediately, framing investigative timelines through a clean corporate layout.
Cartographic & Memorial Integration: The secondary illustration shifts toward a commemorative structure, acting as a direct tribute to historical legacy and regional heritage. The layout incorporates a literal backdrop mapping the subject’s birthplace and areas of local impact, overlaying a clean reproduction of institutional law enforcement museum branding. This deliberate blending of cartography and iconography unifies a complex historical narrative into a balanced, professional asset system.

Technical Execution

All publication layouts, graphic overlays, and alternate concept sketches were engineered within a specialized design pipeline inside the Adobe Creative Suite. The workflow prioritized advanced digital composition, vector path precision, and web-optimized color profiles to guarantee flawless deployment across responsive desktop interfaces and mobile social feeds.
